You’d notice now that a lot of your traditional, off-the-shelf tools have options for customization when it comes to fields and options. You’ll see that you have the ability to move from your typical project or task type to a more custom operating flow that is very specific to how your business works. For some tools, let’s take a marketing team. You have the ability to set all this up. You want to track webinars. Instead of having a project every time you want to launch another webinar, you could have an activity type called Webinars, and then work with that. So, at the end of the day, you can say, “Oh, we carried out this webinar activity 20 times this year,” meaning we held 20 webinars in the year 2025. It’s very granular, and it’s going to take you down to the tiniest aspects of these tools.
I’ve always said that if you’re looking for a traditional solution, something you could bring your people onto, and one that won’t cost too much, although some traditional tools are very expensive for larger teams, if you’re looking for something that has already been set up and is suited for your industry or your team type, a lot of these tools have gotten much better at customization. With traditional tools, you can make them your own in the best possible way that you think you can. There are some things that they can do, and there are some things that they are better at. Every tool has things that it does better, and there are things that it cannot do at the moment. So you can’t make decisions based on what is going to happen in the future because you do not know. You may think a feature is going to come soon, but again, you may not know.
