The best tool is the one that your team members will use. I always say that you don’t need to pack up and move every time a new feature comes to a new tool. You don’t need all of that. If your team is doing great with the tool and you see it’s ticking all of your boxes, there is little reason to move. Now, if it isn’t meeting your expectations, yes, you should be shopping for something else. But if everything meets your needs and you’re not looking to add more features or products, then there’s no need to keep shuffling people around based on how you’re feeling at that moment or what you think is the next shiny thing or the best tool.
You keep moving them, and then they have a hard time adapting. And when they finally adapt, something else has already caught your attention, so you pack them up and move again. And you’re not even moving well because, most of the time, you’re not taking your information or your data with you. You just move and move. Then you have a hard time keeping track of anything that your people are working on. They have a hard time keeping track as well. And sometimes you don’t even cancel the subscriptions that you need to cancel. So it’s just a whole lot of things that shouldn’t be.
