When Should Function Matters More Than Design

At times, we are faced with the weight of creating a custom system that is both functional and beautiful or colorful. When the no-code tools came out, some were quite ugly. But if you could come in and do the things that you needed to do and just log out, did we really need something that was so aesthetically pleasing or colorful?

It differs depending on the business and the industry. Some people don’t mind something that is quite abrasive to a creative’s eye. They prefer something simple, a lot of white. They just want to log in, do what they need to do, and leave. And other people want colors, they want custom fonts, they want a lovely design, they want to come in and feel as if it’s just a replica or extension of their website and brand. Sometimes you have so many features you want, and it’s quite difficult to design around all these features. The most we can do with most of the no-code tools is look at your branding, the fonts, look at the colors, and try to put your logos and all of these things in place. And even speaking of fonts, there are certain options for your fonts that are not available on no-code tools. If you’re looking into branding in your custom tools or branding in no-code, I would have a more detailed video on it.
